Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician will primarily support the upkeep of multiple facilities and equipment. This individual will work within a team to proactively and continuously improve MIL’s infrastructure, systems, and procedures.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair industrial processing equipment such as hoists, air make up units, HVAC units, scrubbers, high pressure process boilers, and magnetic drive pumps.
- Troubleshoot different equipment and systems such as rectifiers, magnetic particle inspection equipment, air compressors, deionized water generators, PLCs, VFDs, and complex control systems.
- Respond to production interruptions and other emergency situations quickly and efficiently.
- Refurbish equipment such as spin dryers and diaphragm pumps by replacing worn components and refinishing.
- Assist with various maintenance infrastructure projects such as complex installations and the restoration and redesign of facilities.
- Manage and maintain MIL’s mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
- Support MIL’s stringent standards of presentation, housekeeping, and organization through the restoration and replacement of lighting, furnishings, oxidation remediation, paint, landscaping, and other aesthetically focused projects.
- Use Six Sigma, 5S, and lean principles to optimize work environment and ergonomics.
- Identify hazards/unsafe working conditions and collaborate with Health and Safety to implement viable solutions.
- Recognize, qualify, and implement upgrades and improvements to enhance facilities and equipment.
- Effectively manage and prioritize department work orders utilizing MIL’s preventative/predictive maintenance software.
- Cross-functionally support the maintenance and custodial teams as needed.
- Assist with continuous improvement, peripheral projects, and company initiatives.
- Take part in applicable ongoing training and development sessions and participate in periodic testing and performance evaluations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Possess and continually develop a working knowledge in electrical systems up to 480V 3ph and large complex water, steam, and compressed air plumbing systems.
- Operate consistently and safely with minimal or no supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and capacity to learn new equipment and systems such as Fanuc robots, rectifiers, chillers, industrial process systems, air compressors, etc.
- Develop and use expert level methods and procedures in maintenance, construction, and repair activities.
- Read and understand drawings, operating manuals, maintenance instructions and building codes.
Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must understand common shop practices, inventories, and tool use including hand, air, power, cordless, carpentry, electrical testing, measuring, and plumbing tools.
- Must be physically capable of standing and/or walking around for extended periods of time, drive forklifts and scissors lifts, and able to work at heights on ladders and man lifts, in confined areas, and outdoors in all types of weather.
