Job Description

Power Conversion and Storage (PCS) provides innovative energy storage systems & hybrid solutions for various applications. It is a fast-paced business that includes design, engineering, services, and commercial organizations focused on deploying battery energy storage projects.

The Lead Engineer - PV Systems Engineering is a critical position for PCS as we work internally with deal teams and externally with vendors to provide optimized technical solutions to meet our global customer’s needs and requirements.  This role will provide technical leadership in the application of PV products in various industries.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define PV system requirements based on products which meet our customer needs
  • Analyze system requirements, design solutions, and integrate various hardware and software components to ensure they work together
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems using analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate subsystems and components into the overall PV system design
  • Maintain and update PV system configurations, procedures and engineering documents
  • Ensure proper distribution of engineering documents, internally and externally.
  • Prepare and Participate in Project review tollgates for PV products
  • Provide oversight and training to regional engineers in the application of PV solutions for our customers
  • Work with global teams to ensure knowledge transfer (Approved to Quote) of our product solutions
  • Define and review typical drawings for our PV products
  • Define, review requirements and test updates for Hybrid Architect

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role

Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a global team
  • Strong knowledge of or familiarity with GE Vernova’s Storage Solutions products
  • Experience with supporting deal teams on bid proposals
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
  • Strong leadership skills, strong organizational vision, customer-centricity, and the ability to energize high-performance teams
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working cross-functionally between Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Product Management, etc.
  • Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical information
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
