MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or team lead capacity; or

 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences, geographic information science, or management information systems and four (4) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or team lead capacity; or

 

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the computer sciences, geographic information science, or management information systems and three (3) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or team lead capacity; or

 

A doctorate from an accredited college or university in one of the computer sciences or management information systems and two (2) years of supervisory experience in data processing (excluding data entry); or

 

A GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) certification from the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

 

Completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) and six (6) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. 

 

Experience in data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college.
