Role Name: Senior Tax Preparer & Future Team Lead
Schedule:
35-40 hours per week standard, up to 70-80 hours during the busy season January-April
Client Time zone: US Eastern Time

Responsibilities
Prepare and complete diverse tax returns including business, individual, trust, and non-profit returns with minimal supervision
Analyze complex tax situations and proactively identify potential issues and optimization opportunities
Review and mentor work prepared by junior team members before partner review
Communicate professionally with clients via email regarding documentation needs and tax-related inquiries
Manage seasonal workload fluctuations, working extended hours during the busy season (January-April)
Participate in daily team communications and strategic planning sessions
Gradually assume team leadership responsibilities as you demonstrate expertise and reliability
Utilize electronic document management systems and client portals for seamless workflow integration
Collaborate directly with firm partners on high-level tax planning and complex cases
Requirements
Proven experience in tax preparation across multiple return types with demonstrated ability to work independently
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written English communication skills for professional client correspondence
Self-motivated professional with a career-focused mindset and strong work ethic
Technology proficiency for electronic workflows and document management systems
Ability to adapt quickly to new software and client-specific processes (Pro Series experience preferred)
Flexibility to work extended hours during busy season while maintaining quality standards
Leadership potential with interest in mentoring and managing junior staff members
