About the role

The Senior Reliability Engineer is a key member of the maintenance team. This position provides technical assistance and coordination for all maintenance improvement efforts. Reporting to the Reliability Leader – Mechanical, the Senior Reliability Engineer works closely with the Reliability Leader – Mechanical and Reliability Leader – Electrical & Instrumentation to provide support to the Maintenance Leaders, Maintenance Technicians, Planners, Stores personnel, Production Teams and Engineers to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance program at the mill to increase overall equipment reliability. They will be assigned projects to lead by the Reliability Leader – Mechanical to develop their experience and knowledge and promote leadership skills.  They will assist with long term program enhancements in the areas of asset criticality analysis, failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, precision maintenance, downtime analysis, basic care, and root cause analysis.

  • Condition Monitoring Management, to include managing vibration, ultrasound, and Infra-Red monitoring programs.
  • Eliminate repeat and repetitive failures using root cause analysis and other maintenance improvement tools, as assigned.
  • Provide support to improve equipment reliability. Troubleshoot and problem-solve chronic machine issues with maintenance and operations personnel. Assist in asset management.
  • Identify need for and develop new Preventative Maintenance requirements. Identify opportunities and needs to improve existing Preventative Maintenance requirements.
  • Provide engineering assistance for operations and maintenance personnel to identify machine components and their correct function, to include researching acceptable replacement parts and solutions.
  • Provide engineering assistance to vendors and contractors during installation and maintenance of machinery to identify opportunities for Preventative and Predictive Maintenance requirements to include aligning  groups of people to develop processes, procedures, and policy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) 
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment is preferred
