What you will do
The Engineering Program Manager role involves working with multi-disciplinary teams across multiple geographies and multiple technologies. Focused on delivering a knowledge management which will develop key components of the Global Operations and Technology Team. He or she will interface with key Product Management leaders to develop and implement leading technologies around Digital Content delivery and global roll-out of paper-less content delivery. He or she will be responsible for the creation/tracking of project plans and milestones with the delivery teams, managing scope, quality, time, and costs requirements.
How you will do it
Knowledgeable in the management and execution of either Waterfall or Agile delivery process and engagement with multiple external dependent teams.
Experience with product development lifecycles.
Extremely organized but flexible to be able to deliver effectively in a dynamic environment.
Experience in project management of infrastructure projects and global roll outs.
Ability to manage dependencies across cross-functional teams, located both domestically and abroad, to deliver high quality projects on time and within budgets
Communicates plan changes, specification changes to team members, other senior leaders at VP/Director level.
Organizes and facilitates project planning and progress meetings, sprints, and release planning, demos and ensure compliance with EPMO project governance standards.
Manages the project to work within approved budgets, escalating changes via the relevant internal processes.
Ability to work cross region, cross PBU engineering related projects to drive efficiency, productivity, common part numbers, and design standards.
Looks for ways to improve and promote quality through demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.
Daily interaction with functional teams, tracking and escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
What we look for
A relevant project management qualification or at least 15 years’ experience in the field.
Must have experience managing paper reduction projects including QR implementation.
Must have worked on global cost reduction projects.
Experience working with technical communications departments on a global scale.
15+ years’ experience in successfully delivering business transformation some of which should include paperless / sustainability initiatives.
Project Management (PMI), ITIL4, Program Management, or Professional (PMP, PRINCE2) or Agile methodologies certification or equivalent experience.
15+ years’ experience managing large multidisciplinary projects with multiple teams located domestically and abroad in a company of similar scale to Johnson Controls.
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies with a total of 10 years’ experience in managing projects as a project manager or program manager.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with excellent time management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent command of English language.
Strong Leadership skills and ability to influence and lead in driving projects to delivery.
