Job Summary

The Sr. Director, ERCOT Originator is responsible for developing, marketing, structuring, negotiating and closing power and gas transaction opportunities with wholesale counterparties in the ERCOT market. Customers include utilities, industrials, municipalities, electric co-ops, and wholesale trading counterparties

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Leads power marketing effort to targeted group of large wholesale industrial customers in the ERCOT market; actively manages and builds relationships with existing and new customers

• Utilizes expert knowledge in power marketing, commodity transaction structuring, and negotiation/contracting to meet/exceed profit and strategic objectives of Vistra Corp

• Develops creative ways to sell products in a manner that differentiates Vistra Corp from competitors, while maintaining a full knowledge of the competitor offerings and focus
• Works in cooperation with structuring, pricing desk, risk, credit, and accounting to quantify/price complex custom deal structures.
• Coordinates Origination activities with Retail LCI to maximize profitability and to meet overall strategic objectives
• Acts as project manager through due diligence and structuring and negotiating of large scale complex transactions

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• 10+ years job experience or any equivalent experience and training which provides a commensurate level of knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Keen understanding of power/gas marketing and trading
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively function in a team environment
• Proven ability to apply expert business and analytical skills to capture major deals
• Possess strong sales and deal structuring capabilities
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
