The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
We are seeking a cybersecurity system administrator with deep knowledge and broad experience to strengthen and maintain our security posture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering requirements and researching, evaluating, designing, planning, deploying, and supporting cybersecurity platforms and related technologies.
Responsibilities
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
· Deploy, monitor and maintain cybersecurity tools (EDR, SIEM, etc.) across multiple systems.· Collaborate with team and system owners to proactively identify and resolve potential technical issues and improve assigned system's security posture.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cybersecurity tool performance, data accuracy, and availability.
· Ensure that systems are hardened and maintain compliance with cybersecurity standards.
· Perform periodic systems upgrades and patches in between critical operations.
· Proficient with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, and analyzing vulnerability scan results to assess risk levels, and prioritize remediation efforts.
· Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues encountered by system administrators.
· Define, document and follow standards and best practices for systems design, testing, and implementation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Software engineering, computer science, IT, cybersecurity )in related field with at least four years IT experience or six years of IT experience.

Job Requirements
· Experience in Linux/Windows system administration.
· Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation of tasks.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Essential Functions
Physical Requirements
- Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
- Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary.
- Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
- Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
- Must be able to work in tight confined space areas.
Work Environment
- All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
- Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
- Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
- Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
Equipment and Machines
- Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance.
- Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Attendance
- Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule
