The Project Manager, Innovation will lead, collaborate and deliver the successful, and on time, execution of new product launches, reformulations and other product optimization projects. Reporting into the Director of Innovation, this role is key to meeting the organization’s goals for ensuring speed to market with a high-degree of finesse and efficiency, and is an opportunity to directly impact the transformation of our brand. The ideal candidate will be able to see the big picture while tracking and navigating the tactical details of planning and execution.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

• Drive product development process, including reformulations, new labels, line extensions and innovation.

• Ability to see the big picture of a project, while monitoring the effectiveness and contributions of the individual project functions.
• Develop detailed project plans with defined timelines, dependencies, owner of activities and resource requirements.
• Communicate and work with senior leadership, external vendors, and cross-functional partners.
• Assign the project team and work with them to control project changes, minimize risk, and generate maximum team performance, keeping all accountable for their assigned work.
• Manage and adjust team activities to meet key milestones.
• Manage tactical items such as product spec sheet, BOM and UPC generation processes.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders, and lead project update meetings, maintain timelines, resource utilization, and prepare project reports.
• Identify roadblocks and risks and recommend resolutions.
• Identify and resolve conflict and mitigate issues quickly.
• In the spirit of continuous improvement, conduct post completion project reviews to identify successes and opportunities, management effectiveness and project success.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience, including time managing consumer goods product development
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
• PMP preferred but not required
• Experience in CPG and VMS preferred but not required
• Experience with process improvement
• Familiar with project management tools, including MS Project, Agile (PPM)
• Action oriented, with a strong attention to detail and creative problem solving capabilities
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High energy, with a positive, open mind
