Reporting to the Senior Director, ISC Network Strategy, Finance, this role is primarily responsible for the financial process and analytical analysis of all Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) of the Company. The Associate Director will coordinate CAPEX results related to monthly actual, budget, forecast, and 3-year strategic plan (ASR). The associate Director and their central team will oversee all CAPEX projects >0.5M$ with in-depth review analysis as of $1M. In case of cross-BUs projects, the business cases will be coordinated and prepared centrally.

This position is also responsible for strengthening CAPEX Process and developing capabilities across the Company, defining and implementing capex analysis and updated CB2 format, and providing guidance to Operations teams.

This role will be a critical voice in strategic decision-making for the Capital investment of the Company and will be the Finance SPOC for Large Capital Council (LCC) preparation, Monthly Capex Committee with SVP ISC Strategy and Transformation, and weekly governance meetings with operations teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in providing financial and business analysis to ISC leadership team
  • Support analysis and preparation for monthly Capex Committee and quarterly LCC with Operations and Finance leadership
  • Responsible for the consolidation of monthly actuals, quarterly forecast, and annual budgets of CAPEX
  • Provide guidance and Assist in the coordination of quarterly projections, annual budgets, and 3-year strategic planning process
  • Define and implement capex analysis and CB2 formats across the company
  • Animate post-mortem analysis process and identify key learnings in order to improve capital strategy
  • Work closely with BUs, Regions and global functions (GSC, Procurement, …) to understand context, drivers, dynamics and build robust Business Cases
  • Special projects as required
  • Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles
  • Plant site and headquarter visits, as required
  • Ad hoc support or special projects, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education            

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance Required
  • MBA/ CPA/ CMA preferred

Experience        

  • Operations Finance, Costing & Analysis background
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Previous experience within BDX Operations Finance preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong Financial systems and tools knowledge and utilization skills (HFM, SAP, JDE, BPC).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel as demonstrated by previous experience creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) required.
  • Previous ERP costing experience (SAP / JDE highly desirable) related to standard cost build-ups and work order variance analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use logic, reasoning, and critical thinking in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility with and challenge stakeholders to drive initiatives and deliver high impact solutions to meet business needs.
  • Resilient and persistent when faced with obstacles.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks.
  • Strong collaboration and demonstrated ability to establish relationships and build rapport with all stakeholders, and influence management through informed discussions and presentations.
