The Department of Foundations and Leadership in Duquesne University's School of Education has an opportunity to fill a non-tenure track full-time professor position in special education at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. Salary and terms of appointment are commensurate with a clinical assistant professor position and include a 9-month salary and benefits package. The start date for the position is August 11, 2025.
Responsibilities: The primary teaching responsibilities associated with the position are courses in undergraduate and graduate level special education, with an emphasis on undergraduate inclusive practices and graduate courses supporting special education certification. Expertise in areas such as high incidence disabilities, learning disabilities, emotional and behavior disorders, Individualized Education Plans, general and special education assessments, curricular and instructional support in inclusive settings, and/or early intervention is preferred. Additional desirable qualities are: K-12 public school teaching experience, experience supervising new teacher candidates in the field of general or special education, and higher education teaching experience. Program work, such as data collection for accreditation, program certification reports, and PDE compliance efforts will be an expected part of the work of this position.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in special education by the position start date with active K-12 special education certification.
