Purpose of the position

 

Hiab has decided to staff a dedicated ICT specialist to handle the onsite IT development and support at our site in Dundalk, Ireland. 

 

The role entails working in an international environment, assisting our onsite and remote teams helping end users with their various desktop support topics, and being responsible for the local servers and other ICT infrastructure. 

 

The Country IT coordinator will be liaising with local and global teams and will work closely with our outsourcing partners and their teams and local vendors. 

The professional in this role will continuously work on improving the end-user experience in the ICT area. 

 

This is an onsite role based in Dundalk, Ireland. 
 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Working as an end-user support, providing hands and feet assistance for the Global Service Desk and application teams;
  • Working with office users, Hiab service technicians, and Hiab factory staff;
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving incidents, requests, and tasks;
  • Maintain CMDB Data and required documentation on infrastructure;
  • Providing hands & feet assistance as part of the HIAB IT Support Model;
  • Responsible for aligning business needs with the vendors selected by HIAB and  following Technical Standards, Security Policies, ITIL best practices, and global processes;
  • Available to work out of regular working hours when is commonly agreed (according to local legislation);
  • Participation as a technical specialist in global and regional projects like service deployments, office moves and acquisitions, and divestment activities. This may require some occasional traveling approximately quarterly;
  • Participation in agreed governance meetings to represent responsibility areas;
  • Local invoice reviewer;
  • Peripheral procurement;
  • Contact persons of our external partners who may need to visit to perform their part of аctivities;
  • Supervising the work and ensuring that local arrangements including work safety are followed;
  • Telephony, VoIP, and mobile device support including device procurement, subscription management, and managing the life cycle of the contract with the mobile phone company provider (renewal and negotiations) with the approval of the local business manager and line manager.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

  • Minimum 2-3  years of experience in technical IT support roles;
  • Knowledge of Windows desktop computing (MacOS is an advantage);
  • Knowledge of Microsoft server and server infrastructure management;
  • Knowledge of tablets, mobile phones, and telephony (fixed and VoIP);
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure management;
  • Excellent command of English verbally and in writing;
  • ITIL framework knowledge;
  • Having experience working in a global organisation is preferred;
  • A self-motivated, people-centric individual with good communication skills, calm and collective;
  • Team player with technical IT knowledge and willingness to learn;
  • Posses the ability to ‘step into the end-user’s shoes’ and the attitude ‘I am here to help you’’;
  • Ability to understand users' needs and be able to communicate with different stakeholders.
