Position Overview:
The Accelerate Clinical Facilitator (Per Diem) – Correctional Healthcare is responsible for delivering simulation-based educational programs that improve the readiness, confidence, and clinical performance of healthcare teams working within correctional environments. Serving as both a clinical expert and educator, this role facilitates immersive learning experiences focused on enhancing patient care, staff safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emergency preparedness.
This is an on-demand, per diem position supporting customer engagements as business needs arise.Assignments may include onsite simulation programs, implementation support, educational consultations, and clinical training events throughout the United States and Canada.

communication, and patient outcomes across healthcare organizations. Unlike traditional continuing education programs, Accelerate
combines immersive simulation, facilitated debriefing, competency assessment,
and actionable performance insights to help healthcare organizations prepare
for high-risk, low-frequency clinical events.
Accelerate facilitators serve as trusted clinical consultants, partnering with healthcare leaders to build sustainable cultures of safety, readiness, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Simulation Facilitation & Educational Delivery
- Facilitate simulation-based learning experiences focused on correctional healthcare and public safety environments.
- Lead structured debriefings that promote clinical reasoning, communication, and performance improvement.
- Deliver Accelerate educational programs in accordance with established clinical and educational standards.
- Adapt educational delivery to meet the operational and security requirements of individual correctional institutions.
Clinical Expertise & Customer Engagement
- Serve as a trusted educational consultant to healthcare leaders, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, behavioral health professionals, correctional officers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Promote evidence-based practice through realistic simulation scenarios and facilitated discussion.
- Evaluate learner performance and provide coaching and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and psychologically secure learning environment while adhering to correctional security protocols.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Accelerate operations, clinical faculty, and customer success teams to ensure successful program delivery.
- Participate in ongoing faculty development, continuing education, and facilitator calibration activities.
- Represent Accelerate professionally while fostering strong customer relationships and service excellence.
Requirements:
- Ideal candidate must reside in the West Coast region
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medicine, Physician Assistant Studies, Emergency Medical Services, or another healthcare-related discipline required.
- Current unrestricted clinical licensure appropriate to profession.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in correctional healthcare environments.
- Experience working in correctional settings such as state or federal correctional facilities, county or municipal jails, juvenile detention centers, immigration detention facilities, or contract correctional healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated expertise managing medical and behavioral emergencies in secure environments.
- Experience educating adult learners in clinical or correctional settings.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage customer engagements with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and Canada (approximately 70–100%, based on facilitator availability and customer demand). Overnight and occasional weekend travel required.
- Ability to work within correctional institutions, secure healthcare facilities, and hospital environments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while facilitating educational programs.
- Ability to lift and transport simulation equipment up to 35 lb
