Seeking a highly skilled and experience Data Steward to lead the establishment of a new and robust data stewardship pillar for our Accounting (ABOR) data product. In addition, act as a senior SME providing thought leadership in our Data Modernization efforts to migrate legacy data pipelines to modern technology and processes. This dual-role position entails developing a strategic vision for data management, governance and overall strategy for Accounting as a data product while providing deep insights and expertise across how core data is utilized across various asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives) to support overall investment management lifecycle from risk management to accounting, analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities –

1 Establish Data Stewardship Pillar for Accounting (ABOR):
• Working with senior stakeholders across BLK, develop and implement a strategic vision for data stewardship framework focused on accounting data lifecycle including operations, engineering, architecture, stewardship and data governance
• Collaborate closely with Accounting functions and core supporting functions (Operations and Engineering) to onboard data, pipelines, processes centrally within Aladdin Data
• Create and enforce best practices and controls as/when needed to ensure data quality, data discovery and accessibility of data
• Design and implement an operating model that fosters collaboration amount all stakeholders, promoting culture of data stewardship within accounting functions
2 Data Modernization:
• Act as a senior SME related to strategic decisions on redesigning Reference Data, including Equities, Fixed Income and Common Data Dimensions (Sectors, Ratings, Issuers)
• Bring in industry standard practices to build data models suitable for scalability, interoperability, consistency and quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs, challenges and opportunities for best-in class redesign solutions
• Participate in all active workstreams (10) to bring synergies and consistencies in design decisions and call out interferences (e.g. Asset Resolution, use of Common Dimensions)


 


 

For Wilmington, DE Only the salary range for this position is USD$178,500.00 - USD$225,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
