Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Job Purpose

Corning Optical Communications is seeking an Internal Communications Manager who will support the development, management, and distribution of global internal and employee communications (internal and executive). Leveraging strategic communications tools, tactics, and insights, this position plays a critical role in ensuring that employees are informed, inspired, and engaged, and become or remain active ambassadors for the COC division.

• Ability to tell a story and deliver it in a way that makes sense to your audience
• Aptitude for thinking strategically and acting tactically
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field

Responsibilities

• Work with the team, in conjunction with other senior leaders, to establish an internal communications strategy that aligns with business goals and objectives

• Develop, edit, manage, implement / distribute internal communications messages and campaigns that connect employees with COC priorities

• Research, conduct interviews, write, edit, and post compelling content in multiple formats for various vehicles (email messages, video scripts, talking points, Q&A, speeches, meetings/conferences including events planning and logistics)
• Day-to-day management and oversight of electronic communications channels, including:
  • The COC intranet, including curating content and providing basic technical site maintenance and updates via the SharePoint 2013 content management system;
  • Digital and two-way communication vehicles such as email and employee feedback channels;

• Assist in the dissemination of information to internal audiences during crisis situations

The range for this position is  $105,606.00   -  $145,208.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
