Position Overview:

As part of the talented Inside Sales team, you will sell all Mercury products, generate interest in and close programs & promotions and provide world class customer service to Mercury Dealers in the United States in a results-driven team environment.  This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy selling, are achievement-oriented and believe in achieving sales goals through strong collaboration with their co-workers and field sales managers, as well as other internal stakeholders.

Essential Functions:  

  • The position also includes working directly with dealers on order processing, product inquires, and process and procedure communication.
  • The zone sales account representative will build direct relationships with dealers and will work closely with and leverage the tools and resources provided to maximize opportunities and close sales gaps within the territories assigned.
  • Contact customers through, but not limited to, phone calls, email, mailings, fax and webinars to communicate programs and policies that lead to sales.
  • Build relationship with customers and promote sales of all Mercury products through execution of sales programs and services.
  • Upsell and cross-sell, suggesting product substitutes.
  • Daily use of Salesforce.com or other CRM tool to document and facilitate multiple aspects of the sales cycle
  • Monitor and learn marine market area information (products sold, competition, boat brands in the market, etc).
  • Support retail sales activities to achieve maximum sales and market share.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers and Regional Business Directors as well as cross-functional departments such as credit, supply chain and distribution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years sales and customer service experience.
  • Problem solving and ability to make decisions within policies and procedures is required.
  • Must be success-driven, able to multi-task and work well in a diverse team and enjoy a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, phone presentation skills, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications (order entry, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets).
  • Self-motivation to prepare and plan calls and execute sales goals.
  • Ability to learn and explain sales programs and Mercury products.
  • Required core competencies: Accountability, Promotes Business Relationships, Sales Ability/Persuasiveness, Contributes to Team Performance, Manages Conflict, Work Standards

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or pursuit of advanced education preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Limited travel – boats shows, customer visits, sales meetings.
  • Hours 7:30 – 4:30 Year Round, 1 Hour Lunch
  • Hybrid work arrangement
