Inside Contractor Sales - Full Time - Santa Rosa

Summary: Create and build strong, positive and sustaining relationships with Friedman’s Pro customers from quote to delivery.  Establish, construct and maintain exceptional relationships with all customers as well as a close association and partnership with Inside and Outside Contractor Sales Account Representatives as well as other Team Members.  

Inside Contractor Sales is the entry level position. Inside Contractor Sales I provides support at the Contractor Sales Counter including helping customers with in depth questions as well as back up cashiering as needed. This position assists the Inside Contractor Sales II role with data entry (sales orders, sales quotes, purchase orders), product pricing and availability research for special orders as well as all order maintenance related activities.  Additionally, this role provides initial triage and sales support to customer walk-in, phone and email inquiries.  The Inside Contractor Sales I role has a comprehensive knowledge of core building materials departments, expert knowledge of one or more core departments such as hardware, lighting, Deco Bath or Flooring, and experience with large customer quotes, orders, deliveries and will calls. The Inside Contractor Sales I will work closely with Inside Contractor Sales II  to provide outstanding customer service to all customers as well as internal Team Members. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Support Inside/Outside Contractor Sales Account Representatives as needed in providing outstanding customer service
• Maintain and build existing relationships with Pro customers by providing information and updates on product availability, product selection, order, and delivery status as well as general industry trends and knowledge
• Engage our customers through our Core Values of Lead, Connect, Grow, Serve, Care
• Assist customers with the selection of products best suited for their needs and projects
• Prepare, coordinate, and communicate price quotations, sales orders and purchase orders to Sales Team Members as well as customers/contractors
• Manage and maintain open quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders
• Keep current with competitive prices, products, and area-related information
• Assist with the resolution and execution of customer issues in partnership with P&D ASMs and Pro & Design/Yard Business Support Manager
• Research, identify and provide input on how to improve processes and procedures
• Maintain regular and dependable punctuality and attendance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to perform selling, purchasing and lookup functions on Company computer systems such as: Account/Order/PO Lookup, Quote/Order/Purchase Order entry, Returns, Quote Conversion and price recalculation, Partial Invoicing, Product lookup using keywords/alternate SKUs
• Ability to determine Credit processes such as: when to offer an account application, what type of account, Prelims, Farm Tax Exemption, Resale, what items may not be purchased on a job account, Check guarantee and Check card approval
• Familiarity with Contractor pricing language, affiliation pricing, bids/quotes, discounting
• Knowledge of Lumber, Building Materials, Millwork, Hardware, and Deliveries
• Demonstrated ability to provide professional communication verbally and written
• Active listening skills to understand customer concerns, producing outcomes that solve complex issues through the alignment of Friedman’s Core Values
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and work with Team Members and partners in a fast-paced environment
