We work closely with our colleagues across Vestas to deliver customer value. The Power Solutions Porto and Chennai build and add capacity and capability to the global engineering organization. Working together with the other Power Solutions in Denmark, Germany and UK, Chennai and Porto Engineering Centres focus on the research and development and engineering support spanning all of Vestas' product portfolio. With a broad engineering capability spanning all engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, controls, software, and data analytics, these centres strengthen the global R&D setup, within a creative and engaging environment. With the right competencies and tools and through lean and efficient processes, we create design solutions for all of Vestas’ product portfolio, aiming to reduce complexity and deliver efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for a Trainee – Powertrain NVH position in the Powertrain Department in Porto, Portugal focusing on the analysis of Powertrain System dynamics and loads utilizing numerical methods like multi-body simulations, finite elements and alike. Activities will involve conducting parameter studies in the NVH area related to the improvement of engineering models, under guidance of a cross-functional engineering team, responsible for the delivery of work packages and technical solutions to the entire Powertrain system area.
In this role, you will:
- Gain experience in different aspects of the responsibilities assigned as part of the traineeship
- Learn the required skills for future jobs by doing different real work assignments
- Gain wider knowledge and real-time experience on the job
Main activities will include:
- Define and specify the analysis under the guidance of the NVH team
- Build the models and complete the analysis according to the specifications
- Post-process and evaluate the analysis data with regard to the intended information
- Summarize the findings in a report and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders
- Work closely with the NVH team to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision-making
Qualifications
- Student in final year(s) of a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Familiar with drive technology of rotating machinery (gears, bearings, etc.) from wind turbines, aerospace or heavy industries
- Building knowledge in simulation and analysis of machine dynamics and mechanical systems
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work in a collaborative and exciting environment
