Position Summary:
Handles complex issues and problems. Applies comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of area of specialty. Leads moderately complex projects and programs.Primary point of responsibility for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment deal performance, particularly focused on first year performance. The Portfolio Analytics professional collects and analyzes data from multiple sources to determine that all operational steps are being accomplished as expected, such as account and document loading, skip tracing, credit reporting, and collection across different channels. Responsible for analysis of inventory with the aim to improve and optimize customer communications and handling. These roles also track and report on current or expected financial performance and make recommendations meant to improve portfolio returns.
Professional Experience and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as an Analyst, Data Analyst, or Credit and Default Operations Analyst or Collections Analyst background is a plus.
- Strong SQL experience with ability to create, read, write and troubleshoot advanced SQL Queries with ability to write complex joins (left and right joins) as well as union, pivot, common table expression query statements for complex data calculations using time window functions in SQL.
- 3+ years’ experience in data analysis involving large amounts of daily transactional data, preferably in credit default operations.
- Intermediate-level experience in Data Mining, Data Analysis, Report building and SQL with strong data mining/data visualization capabilities.
- Strong Excel skills (charts/graphs/formulas/macros).
- Experience with PowerBI and able to encapsulate business objectives into useful metrics and build them out in reporting tools. Ability to create, develop and modify Dashboard reports without having detailed requirements.
- Able to read, write and understand programed solutions in languages such as R, Python, SAS, etc.
- Familiarity with computerized modeling and how to utilize models in data sets.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex data quality issues or other business problems.
- Able to help mentor junior analysts.
- High level analytical problem-solving skills coupled with great presentation and communication skills.
- Intermediate level project management skills. Begins to oversee project execution stages with independence.
- Ability to able to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to complete business problem solving task assigned.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and report data findings.
- Intermediate level of analytics autonomy and independence.
- Must have effective organizational, time-management and high attention to detail skills.
- Basic version control knowledge –(Example: GitHub).
Education: Minimum of Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or quantitative field; Master’s Degree preferred. Advanced Degree/ Certifications: MS, MBA, SAS Training
Job Description
- Build and maintain visualization dashboards for showing activity performance as it relates to deal performance and workability.
- Investigate data to discover trends and patterns that can be used to extract valuable business insights. Manage multiple projects in addition to day-to-day process tasks management on medium to high value items.
- Dig into data and raw information through statistical analysis to set expected thresholds for deal performance metrics, and to discover trends and patterns that can be used to extract valuable business insights.
- Identify issues and process improvement opportunities and work with other areas of the business to analysis, report and resolve discrepancies (including taking ownership of actions/projects where appropriate).
- Recommends changes to inventory workflow rule changes to leadership along with change management and testing documentation as required.
- Performs data analysis & reporting using Oracle PL-SQL, Microsoft T-SQL, R, Python SAS, and other statistical tools.
- Review and improve analytics processes, methods, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and security.
- Acts as the subject matter expert for inventory management.
- Presents analytical study/research findings to other stakeholders within the Data & Analytic (D&A) department when required, as well as with Partners in Underwriting, Business Development, Finance, and others.
