Job Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery, automation systems, and facility equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying, and automation systems to ensure equipment meets operational, safety, and regulatory standards.
The technician supports daily production goals by minimizing downtime, identifying root causes of equipment issues, and implementing effective solutions. Responsibilities may range from routine maintenance and repairs to advanced diagnostics, system improvements, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong adherence to safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, USDA, and company policies.
Depending on experience and assignment, the technician may work independently or collaboratively, support multiple facilities, mentor junior technicians, coordinate with vendors and contractors, and contribute to maintenance planning, documentation, and long-term asset reliability strategies.
This position operates in a fast-paced industrial environment and requires flexibility to respond to equipment failures, emergencies, and evolving operational needs.
Essential Job Functions

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery, automation systems, and facility equipment

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, conveying, and automation systems

Inspect, test, diagnose, and adjust equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation

Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime to support production goals

Install, assemble, modify, and maintain industrial equipment such as motors, drives, gearboxes, conveyors, sensors, and control components

Execute scheduled maintenance tasks and document completed work accurately

Identify root causes of equipment issues and support corrective and preventive actions

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams

Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition

Follow all safety, food safety, biosecurity, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, USDA, LOTO, and PPE policies

Identify and report unsafe conditions or practices and take corrective action when appropriate

Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed

Provide guidance, mentoring, or technical support to other technicians based on experience and role assignment

Support overtime, weekends, holidays, on-call, or emergency repairs as required

Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance (level determined by experience and demonstrated skills)

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Ability to read manuals, SOPs, and technical documentation

Strong commitment to safety and compliance standards
