- Alumni Relations & Community Building: Foster connections among alumni through networking opportunities and relationship-building initiatives.
- Communication Management: Keep alumni informed and engaged through various channels.
- Support Initiatives: Assist with alumni career programs and volunteer opportunities.
- Student Engagement: Collaborate on activities like New Student Orientation and Career Fairs.
- Lead Student Philanthropy Efforts: Plan and execute Aztec Proud student philanthropy events.

Position Information
- This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
- This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.
Department Summary
University Relations and Development (URAD) advances SDSU’s mission through strategic priorities like becoming a premier public research university, fostering resilience, promoting equity and inclusion, and centering students.
URAD builds lasting relationships with alumni, parents, donors, students, and the community to generate private support for diverse programs. It offers services in stewardship, events, gift administration, and communications.
In 2023-2024, URAD raised $131.9M, awarded 2,251 scholarships, and welcomed 5,006 first-time donors. The latest fundraising success can be credited to the university’s goal of building a world-class university campus, research center, and multi-use stadium in Mission Valley; all serving higher education, the public good, and the community’s goals and aspirations.
