About the role

Overview

This is a seasonal farm job, depending on weather and work, this job will end in the fall. It is located at USU's Cache Junction Farm. Employees will take part in harvest and irrigation of the crops we raise, which are barely, corn and alfalfa. They will also help with a number of different tasks, including: Spraying weeds, general ground clean up, equipment operation and servicing, mechanical work, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Must show up every day, on time.
  • Help with irrigation switches.
  • Work in a team to complete tasks.
  • Help with the day to day tasks that keep this farm running.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid drivers license for essential job duties, such as driving university vehicles and trasporting materials.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work sites.
  • Needs to work well with others and understand directions.

This is a farm job, which means it is subject to the elements. The employee will be outside most of the time working in the sun and weather. There is a lot of physical labor that is required, and employees will need to be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be on their feet for most of the day. Employees will be walking and moving wheel lines, as well as other strenuous tasks. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
