About the Role:
The Lead Data Center Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of enterprise-scale data center environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, scalability, and security across business-critical infrastructure.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing advanced support across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and data center facilities. This role also serves as an escalation point for complex incidents and plays a key part in maintaining disaster recovery readiness.
About You:
- Operate and maintain production data center infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualization platforms)
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex incidents and drive root cause resolution
- Act as an escalation point for critical issues impacting availability or performance
- Support and test high availability and disaster recovery strategies
- Partner with engineering, facilities, security, and vendors to ensure operational stability
- Contribute to process improvements, standardization, and documentation
- Identify and implement automation opportunities, including AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency and diagnostics
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of data center experience, including 4+ years in a dedicated Data Center Administrator (or similar) role
- Hands-on experience in enterprise-scale environments
- Strong expertise across:
- Compute (rack/blad servers, OS-level troubleshooting)
- Storage (SAN/NAS)
- Networking (switching, routing fundamentals)
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to lead incident response and troubleshoot under pressure
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery environments
- Strong ownership mindset and sound technical judgment
- Comfort working independently while collaborating across teams
- Interest in leveraging automation and AI tools to improve operations
