Position Details:

The Opportunity:

The incumbent will perform custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls/apartments/dining. This position performs routine maintenance work on buildings, facilities, and equipment. Successful candidates must be willing and able to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, painting, spackling/minor patching, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including operating industrial type cleaning equipment such as high speed buffers, burnishes, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners. Successful candidates must also be willing and able to clean restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices and/or similar facilities, as well as move heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, supplies, and other related cleaning devices. This position requires the ability to physically bend, stoop, lift and move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds; to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift and climb and stand on ladders. Must be available for the following possible shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm.

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $3,417 to $4,542 | Range 38 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • The ability to do required work and the ability to read and write AND six months experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work; OR equivalent education/experience

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
