Job Description

As a Security Officer - Retail Site - Afternoon Shift in Happy Valley, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations to help create a secure environment for customers and staff. Your visible presence and routine patrols will help to deter security-related incidents, while your strong communication skills and commitment to customer service will make a positive impact on everyone you encounter. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, responding to emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
• Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, and verifying credentials as required.
• Support loss prevention efforts by remaining alert to potential theft or policy violations within the retail environment.
• Communicate professionally with store staff, visitors, and/or law enforcement as needed.
• Complete required reports and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
