Hematologists and oncologists at Duke Raleigh Hospital, A Campus of Duke University Hospital Cancer Center Hematology/Oncology offer comprehensive treatments for almost every type of cancer. Services include hematology and oncology consultations, follow up visits, chemotherapy and nonchemotherapy infusions, blood transfusions, injections, survivorship care, same day appointments available for acute symptom management.

Job Duties:
- Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act
- Assist in the development and implementation of general policies and responses.
- Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of as assigned with physician orders and established policies and procedures to include collecting and analyzing patient data, developing and implementing nursing care plans, establishing interpersonal relationships with patients, evaluating nursing care given and communicating to proper personnel relevant facts about patients, action taken and patient as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit material resources; appraise quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and report results to head nurse; maintain standards of cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Observe activities of nursing staff and make recommendations to nursing management for improvement in the quality and effectiveness of nursing care given procedures designed to effect efficiency of operations.

Oncology experience preferred

Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
- At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
- CN Is are eligible for promotion to CN II by meeting criteria set forth by the DUHS Vizient Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire.
- Promotions can occur at 12 months of hire, but no later than 18 months of hire.
Education, Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
- All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the progr
