Quality Engineers are core delivery team members responsible for the validation of functional and nonfunctional requirements implemented by a team. They are responsible for decomposing the functional and technical requirements created by Product Owners and Systems Analysts into test scripts. Quality Engineers raise defects as issues are identified and support the remediation process with teams.

ROLE


● Creates and executes manual and automated test scripts to validate the acceptance criteria defined within the epics and user stories implemented by team members.


● Collaborates with team members to decompose functional and nonfunctional requirements into test scripts and scenarios.


● Develops functional test plans for complex systems.


● Designs and develops high quality test automation, from which others can create repeatable automated tests.


● Works with Devs to identify deficiencies within a product/application’s code base and identifies opportunities to improve overall code quality.


● Implements API Level Automation using various technologies and tools.


● Develops complex SQL against a variety of data sources.


● Leverages/implements data pipelines to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and optimized for analysis.


● Analyzes, identifies, and validates functional aspects of a shared service, supporting multiple downstream systems.


● Raises the standards for QA practices and stays up-to-date with the latest technologies both in the Company and industry and utilizes them to good effect.


● Identifies test tools and processes to monitor, maintain, and report defects in the application.
 
 

REQUIRED


● 3-5 years’ current and demonstrable experience as an SDET in API/UI.


● 1-5 years’ automation and testing experience with XML and web-based SOAP/RESTful services.


● 1-5 years’ current design and development experience in Java or C#.


● At least 2 years’ development experience in any scripting language.


● 3-5 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL and/or Transact-SQL.


● At least 2 years’ experience with back-end testing writing SQL queries and testing Stored Procedures.


● Experience with typical multi-tier application architecture (presentation, logic, data).


● Proactive attitude, strong problem solving and decision-making skills.


● Proven ability to drill down into results and complete deep-dive root-cause analysis.


● Knowledge of database servers, web servers, application servers, and load balancer.


● Proficient with the following tools: Jenkins, Splunk, SoapUI, Fiddler, Nessus, JVM & SQL Server.


● Experience working with architects, developers, and QA across multiple teams.


● Proficient with Agile testing methodologies and best practices in an SDET role.


● Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


● Ability to work both independently and within a close team environment.


● Computer Science and engineering skills and equivalent experience.


Recommended


Appreciation for CI/CD and DevOps.


● 2+ years’ experience monitoring tools and usage for non-functional testing such as Splunk and Dynatrace/APM.


● Experience working with Maven, Git, JDBC, Splunk.
