and maintenance of the key resources within the Climate pillar to enable the adoption of Carbon related<br/>
products and services in line with the best-available knowledge and following best-practice for certification<br/>
bodies.<br/>
The Global Climate leader is a key pillar of the Global Sustainability strategy and responsible for the<br/>
development and maintenance of Carbon products and guidance within the network. The Global Climate team<br/>
act as “product owners” for the key procedures and processes, including coordination across different affiliate<br/>
and regional teams to ensure a successful development and growth.</p><p><strong>REPORTING LINE</strong><br/>
Global ESG Assurance, Climate and Circularity Manager, CEO-4.</p><p> </p><p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong><br/>
The Global Climate Leader is responsible for designing and deploying SGS’s global strategy for carbon-related<br/>
services. This includes consolidating and expanding our existing offerings in carbon data collection,<br/>
verification, and advisory services. The mission is to drive organic growth and market leadership in carbon related<br/>
services, aligning with global sustainability trends and competitive benchmarks. The mission also<br/>
comprises a M&A component to generate additional growth.</p><p><br/>
<strong>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><ul><li>Define and implement a global strategy for carbon services (Scope 1, 2, 3), aligned with market</li><li>demands and sustainability goals.</li><li>A comprehensive understanding of grounding principles and application of concepts around Life Cycle</li><li>Assessment (LCA).</li><li>Benchmark SGS’s services against competitors to identify growth opportunities and service gaps.</li><li>Develop a clear value proposition and service portfolio road map for carbon services.</li><li>Structure existing offerings in carbon data collection, emissions verification (GHG Protocol, ISO</li><li>14064, CDP, SBTi, ISO14068), and carbon strategy consulting.</li><li>Ensure consistent service methodologies, quality standards, and tools across all SGS Affiliates.</li><li>Drive Strategic Global Accreditations for the Business Assurance Division.</li><li>Create strategic partnerships with digital tools and platforms providers for carbon data management</li><li>and reporting.</li><li>Build partnerships with international frameworks (e.g. CDP, SBTi, UNFCCC, ISO), carbon market</li><li>players, and strategic digital carbon platforms.</li><li>Align carbon related verification, validation and assurance services with requirements of</li><li>ISO17029:2019, ISO14065:2020 and the upcoming ISO14019(draft stage).</li><li>Enable all carbon related verification services that are carried out as part of assurance engagements</li><li>to be compliant with internal quality management systems.</li><li>Represent SGS in global sustainability forums and working groups on climate and carbon.</li><li>Coordinate a network of local carbon experts across SGS affiliates.</li><li>Provide training and support capacity building within the SGS network.</li><li>Drive internal knowledge sharing and best practices on carbon services.</li><li>Identify and activate global business opportunities in carbon services across all regions.</li><li>Support local SGS affiliates in building commercial capabilities for carbon-related services.</li><li>Collaborate with Key Account Managers to position SGS as a trusted carbon partner for multinational</li><li>clients and their supply chain actors.</li><li>Collaborate with global and local marketing teams to promote the SGS Climate related services.</li><li>Liaise with other Divisions and Businesses with a common objective in the area of Sustainability</li><li>services and ensure aligned content as far as possible</li><li>At all times, adopt a safe behaviour by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS</li><li>employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures.</li><li>At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>PROFILE</strong></p><ul><li>Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Engineering, Climate Policy, or related field.</li><li>Minimum 10 years of experience in Carbon management, Emissions verification, or Climate strategy</li><li>consulting.</li><li>Solid experience in leading position and in the development of such portfolio of services at large scale.</li><li>Strong understanding of international standards and frameworks (GHG Protocol,
