TITLE: Financial Controller

LOCATION:  Powdr Corp. Offices, Kimball Junction

STATUS:  Salaried, Full-time, Year-Round

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:30AM to 5:00PM

Snowbird is seeking a Financial Controller to lead and manage all aspects of financial reporting and accounting operations. This role encompasses profit and loss reporting, accounts payable and receivable, tax compliance, payroll, procurement, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in accounting systems design and implementation, committed to accuracy, and driven by process improvement. They should be capable of independently delivering results while motivating and developing high-performing teams and possess strong leadership and communication skills.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes and reporting packages.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, and revenue recognition.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
  • Manage intercompany fund settlements and HOA investment placements.
  • Supervise condominium timeshare accounting, including billing, collections, foreclosures, and association reporting.

Cash & Tax Management

  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity and optimize working capital management.
  • Prepare and file tax reports, including sales and personal property taxes.
  • Collaborate with external CPA firm to prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns.

Compliance & Controls

  • Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including Forest Service lease audits.
  • Review contracts for compliance across groups, concessions, and suppliers.
  • Assist with annual insurance renewals and policy bindings.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

Education & Credentials

  • Master’s in Finance or Accounting, or MBA
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required

Experience

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
  • Public accounting background preferred
  • Experience in high-volume, multi-entity, consumer-facing businesses
  • Familiarity with condominium association accounting

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in NetSuite, Coupa, SMS Host, and Workday Adaptive Planning or similar ERP and planning systems
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling
  • Experience with accounting systems design and implementation

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with some nights and weekends as required by workload and special events.

Working Conditions

  • General office environment with limited physical activity.
  • Option to work remotely up to 3 days per week.
  • Occasional contact with guests.
  • Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management and other departments.
  • Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.
  • Occasional travel to/from resort.
