JOB PURPOSE
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the operation of a specific section within the warehouse. This role supports the Warehouse Supervisor with the day-to-day operations, managing a group of operators to ensure efficient warehouse activities that meet business targets. The Warehouse Team Lead coordinates workloads, provides support, monitors issues, and ensures that production targets, KPIs, and quality standards are achieved. The role focuses on individual performance and development, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
STRUCTURE
The Warehouse Team Lead reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and the Senior Vice President. They will work closely with warehouse staff, department managers, and team members to meet operational goals and uphold company standards.
RESPONSIBILITY

Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation to meet operational and customer demand.

Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines as per schedules.

Maintain accurate inventories within the area of responsibility.

Ensure accurate recording of stock movements.

Ensure computerized or automated systems are accurate and up-to-date.

Identify and recommend system improvements.

Resolve or escalate warehouse issues as appropriate.

Produce regular reports and statistics as required.

Review and implement waste reduction strategies.

Assist in planning future capacity requirements.

Maintain a clean and tidy working environment for operational efficiency.

Manage time and attendance for operatives and support supervisor with people management issues.

Communicate regularly with staff regarding priorities, targets, and operational requirements.

Support recruitment, training, and performance monitoring to ensure targets are met.

Report progress updates, key achievements, and concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS

Accuracy and Efficiency:

Ensure timely and accurate processing of all receiving and shipping operations.

Maintain a 95% or higher accuracy rate in inventory management over a three-month period.

Successfully manage and complete all assigned tasks on schedule with positive feedback from team members.

Quality Control:

Maintain a 95% or higher accuracy rate in inventory management and reporting over a three-month period.

Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Resolve discrepancies and issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Organization and Maintenance:

Maintain up-to-date and accurately organized inventory records.

Ensure all warehouse areas are clean, organized, and safe.

Implement and manage a cycle count plan efficiently, with a response rate of at least 80% from targeted employees.

Plan and execute at least two successful employee events per quarter, with positive feedback from 80% of participants.

Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and feedback.
