Oversees and manages assigned projects/initiatives as delegated. Develops project plans, goals, timelines and justification of resources needed to support of project/initiative. Performs data analysis and produces reporting/ dashboards to support business recommendations. Manages department work queues, revenue cycle reporting, laboratory accreditation and licensure oversight.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates / supports performance improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.
- Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
- Using a project management structure, manages assigned projects/assignments related to laboratory functions, operations, and growth (incl. project plan development incorporating goals, resource justification, timelines and key success metrics).
- Develop and maintain knowledge of EPIC system to become subject matter expert within Laboratory services.
- Develop, produce, analyze and distribute identified reporting and analysis as well as ad hoc requested reports/information by identified due dates.
- Maintains current knowledge of College of American Pathologists accreditation standards and requirements.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of laboratory operations to ensure standardization throughout Network Laboratories related to new processes, modifications to existing processes.
- Effective communications with Network/Entity Lab Managers, QA Manager, Medical Directors, Sr. Leadership during projects, as appropriate, and prior to any changes being implemented.
- Performs backup responsibilities for Work Queue Management when primary person is absent.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting up to 8 hours per day in 4 hour increments. Standing up to 4 hours per day in one-hour
increments. Walking up to 4 hour per day in one-hour increments. Significant data entry/typing. Rare lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds. Rare firm grasping, twisting/turning, stooping/bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching above the shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree and ASCP certification in an anatomic pathology laboratory specialty is required.
Master's degree is preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Advanced Microsoft Excel required.
Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint and Word required.
ASCP certification as a CT/HT/PA specialty is required.
EPIC system preferred.
Project Management preferred.
Five years of anatomic pathology laboratory experience preferred.
Two years supervisory experience preferred.
