Overview
Apogee Engineering is seeking a full-time Senior Protection Program Engineer focusing on SAP programs to work with the AFLCMC Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB), OH. This position will serve as the technical expert for multiple specialized Information Protection (IP) and acquisition security programs supporting major DoD and classified/highly sensitive USAF defense acquisition and intelligence programs.
This is a full-time position located on-site at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) in Dayton, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Assist with technical security services for day to day security operations of a complex acquisition portfolio, including implementation of information, personnel, physical, and industrial security up to Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP)
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and recommend/implement changes to existing security countermeasures as the threat environment change
- Assist with managing newcomer and security-related databases, including in/out-processing.
- Maintain an active JPAS account and assist with verifying personnel security clearances.
- Assist by preparing and coordinating security-related briefing materials.
- Provide security-related technical assistance to the Directorate for briefings & meetings.
- Assist by recording and tracking security program action items, suspense’s, and processes.
- Assist with processing personnel security investigation documents, reviewing the investigation documents for accuracy, and tracking submitted requests for personnel security clearances.
- Administratively assist with the coordination of DD Form 254, DoD contract security classification specification, and prepare/maintain security program documentation.
- Assist travelers in preparing OCONUS and CONUS travel clearance and training requirements.
- Establish and maintain official file plans with the use of AFRIMS and support electronic files management, records management, and file plan management.
- Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare security-related spreadsheets, briefings, figures, graphics, tables, forms, and documents.
- Perform Physical Security inspections (classified facilities), process required paperwork for new facilities or for modifications, and operate the complex’s installed access control system
- Prior to granting access, verify credentials, access paperwork, issue identity badges, grant authorized access and enforce strict access control procedures and processes with zero defects.
- Maintain SCI coordinated meetings and agendas.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have an active Secret level clearance
Certification: Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Education: Bachelor's DegreeYears of Experience: Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience, five (5) of which must be supporting the DoD
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree
Years of Experience: Fifteen (15) or more years of relevant experience, five (5) of which must be supporting the DoD
