About the role

Zurich is currently looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst or AVP, Reporting Analyst to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
 

The Performance Associate or Senior Performance Associate will be part of a dynamic, innovative, fast-paced Financial Reporting team.  The ZNA Financial Reporting team is responsible for the accurate, complete and timely preparation of a variety of financial reporting deliverables, including monthly management financial results to Business Unit leads and the CFO, quarterly IFRS reporting to Group for inclusion in the IFRS consolidated results, and quarterly/annual local statutory reporting to insurance regulatory bodies.   
 

This role will be filled at either the Senior OR AVP Level. The hiring manager will determine the appropriate level based upon the selected applicant’s experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

  • Oversee and support in the completion of monthly/quarterly close tasks, including preparing/reviewing and recording journal entries and preparing/reviewing reconciliations and other supporting schedules
  • Support in the preparation and review of monthly management financial statements and analysis of results.
  • Support in the preparation and review of quarterly IFRS FIP submissions to Group.
  • Preparation of quarterly/annual statutory filings, including separate accounts.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of relevant IFRS and statutory accounting principles.
  • Drive process change and improvement, bringing automation into processes, as applicable.
  • Support in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls for high quality financial reporting deliverables.

 

Basic Qualifications Senior Financial Reporting Analyst (6T):

  • Bachelors Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area

 

OR

  

Basic Qualifications AVP, Reporting Analyst (7T):
 

  • Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area

 

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
 

  • Insurance industry experience
  • Project management experience
  • CPA, CPCU, CFA or CTP
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The combined salary range for this position is $94,100.00 - $203,700.00. The proposed salary range for the Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is $94,100.00 - $154,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%. The proposed salary range for the AVP Financial Reporting Analyst is $124,500.00 - $203,700.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
