About the role

We are seeking an experienced validation manager for our Software Verification and Validation (V&V) team who is chartered with ensuring the quality and reliability of the software of an embedded subsystem on the next-generation of electric vehicles. The manager will work directly with development teams on the design of the embedded subsystem and then create a validation strategy at both the module and system level to verify the subsystem. This manager will be responsible for hiring a team of validation engineers and to then drive the team to meet their committed deliverables as well as working with technical leads and managers across the broader organization to assess risk, communicate status and drive closure to key issues.

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of validation engineers
  • Assign tasks and projects based on team members' strengths and development needs
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Develop and implement comprehensive validation strategies for embedded software
  • Stay updated with industry standards (like ISO 26262, AUTOSAR) and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate validation processes early in the development cycle
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Ensure thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements
  • Manage the execution of various testing types including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics for the validation process
  • Analyze test results and provide actionable insights to development teams
  • Participate in design reviews and safety analyses
  • Liaise with internal teams (development, systems engineering, product management) and external stakeholders (clients, suppliers)
  • Present validation results and status reports to senior management
  • Manage customer validation requirements and ensure their satisfaction
  • Continuously assess and improve validation processes
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in automotive embedded systems
  • Contribute to the organization's overall quality and safety culture

The minimum requirements we seek:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded software testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of automotive embedded systems and related standards (ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, etc.)
  • Experience with various testing methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles particularly in the automotive domain as well as agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Project management experience is a plus
