This posting will be utilized to fill multiple positions.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a trained member of the unit-based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. F8 is an adult 30-bed unit specializing in the care and treatment of patients belonging to the Cardiology, Cardiothoracic (CT), Structural Heart, Surgery, and Vascular Surgery teams. The PCT works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.

Required:  

• High School Diploma/GED and  successful completion of patient care technician course within 3 months of hire

• Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability

• Must be able to lift 100 lbs. to waist height
