About the role

Description

 Summary/Objective:

 The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees in a  manufacturing environment. This position plans and assigns work, recommends improvements in  production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution. 

• Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.

 • Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager. • Maximize machine/employee output while minimizing downtime to promote company profit objectives. • Manage the preservation and handling of finished goods and WIP inventories. 

• Promote and maintain company quality standards throughout every process. 

• Maintain proper inventory levels. 

• Manage department priorities. • Track absenteeism and timekeeping. 

• Conduct weekly safety meetings with employees and maintain a safe working environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

 This is a full-time position. Hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 3AM AM, 40 hours per week. Overtime after 40 hours. Occasional weekend work may be required as  job duties demand.  


Travel:

No travel is expected for this position. 

Requirements

 Required Education:

 High School Diploma or GED equivalent 


Preferred Experience:

 • 3-5 years of experience in a production environment.

 • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

 • Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and industrial skills a plus 

• Working knowledge of Laser and Plasma systems. 

• Previous experience working with steel a plus.
