 Work You’ll Do

M&A IT professionals advise, implement, and deliver transformative solutions to clients to optimize their IT activities due to a pending/completed transaction, restructuring and strategic cost transformation event. Our practitioners perform business process analysis, mapping, and design for M&A projects focused on an IT work stream including IT infrastructure separation, data center migration, application integration/separation/rationalization, or IT synergies/cost reduction. As part of the M&A IT team, Consultants assist in the above through synthesizing overall strategy by analyzing a wide variety of solutions. They select the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing or complex financial analysis, and interpreting and reporting on outputs. Consultants strive to improve deliverable quality through verification and validation of results, serving as trusted advisors to corporate and private equity clients. Consultants also perform but are not limited to the following:

  • Function as integrators between business needs and M&A innovative technology solutions
  • Gain exposure to multiple industries while demonstrating an awareness of the full breadth of services offered by Deloitte Consulting
  • Perform accurate analysis and effective diagnosis of client issues and manage day-to-day client relationships at peer client levels
  • Assist in proposal development, as requested
  • Work with global IT teams as applicable which may require work to be balanced across varying/multiple time zones

The Team

Our M&A team offers expert guidance to corporate and private equity clients in navigating complex growth and divestiture scenarios. Our services encompass M&A strategy and transaction diligence, integration and separation planning and execution, as well as transaction financing.

Preparing for Day 1 implementation requires managing everything from cybersecurity to corporate culture, with each workstream of an M&A transaction impacting long-term synergies and performance. Deloitte's M&A Integration & Divestiture (I&D) specialists help take control with real-time dashboards and collaborative tools to map, track, and manage critical processes for synergy capture and sustained growth. This team assists with deal closing, integration and divestiture strategy and governance, integration and divestiture accounting and reporting services, developing and executing a Day 1 implementation plan, and addressing longer-term integration needs to create the future-state organization our clients envision. The M&A I&D IT team focuses on functional integration & separation activities particular to the IT component of a deal. The scope of their work may include end-state system architecture, application rationalization, and system or data migration. They provide subject matter knowledge across critical components of IT (e.g., infrastructure, applications, IT operations, IT finances and expenses, Active Directory, end-user computing, messaging, enterprise architecture, testing).
