About the role

The Associate, Advisor Services is a critical part of the Mariner team, responsible for delivering extraordinary service and always putting the client first.  We are looking for a candidate excited to own the onboarding new client process and be the primary point of contact for all advisor requests.  As a master of the entire operational life cycle, candidate will be responsible for opening new accounts, submitting wires, transfers, and other client/advisor requests. You will work hand in hand with senior members of the team and consult with our advisor group to answer technical questions and find creative solutions to issues when working with our custodians.  If you love building relationships, managing a diversity of tasks, have a strong attention to detail, and want to be an important part of a team, then this opportunity is for you. Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare client paperwork, follow up with the advisor to ensure return, and submit to internal departments or custodians to confirm completion
  • Effectively process all inbound client service requests within the defined Service Level Agreements
  • Build trusted and collaborative relationships with the operations teams at our custodians to properly and accurately execute all aspects of the client lifecycle 
  • Work with our advisors to provide subject matter expertise and ensure timely responses to all inquiries and correspondence
  • Manage requests, including resolving complex client issues, researching unique client needs, and coordinating operational and custodial support
  • Manage operational workflow & research and resolve all Not in Good Order notifications from custodians
  • Identifying opportunities to improve platform efficiency and effectiveness
  • Attend and participate in learning opportunities through client service associate meetings and internal resources made available through compliance, practice management, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications: 

  • A min of 4 years of relevant experience 
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong desire to work in the wealth management industry
  • Experience with Charles Schwab and Fidelity institutional platforms and paperwork preferred
  • Demonstrated success and enjoy working in Operations
  • A strong client focus and the ability to provide superior client service

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong PC proficiency with MS Office Suite, CRM (Salesforce, Redtail, etc.)
  • Positive attitude toward client relations to provide exceptional, proactive client service 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain the necessary attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to effective client relationships
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • A resourceful self-starter who takes initiative to quickly assimilate and apply new knowledge
  • Builds trust, honors commitments, and treats all internal and external relationships with respect. 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and team-oriented environment
  • Strong willingness to learn & open to feedback and coaching 

 

Our compensation reflects the cost of talent across multiple US geographic markets. The base pay for this position across all US geographic markets ranges from $60,000/year to $94,000/year. Pay is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits.
