Reports To: Nursing Program Administrator
Salary Range: $64,832.19-$81,152.39 (as determined by the Faculty Review Committee upon review of academic and professional credentials of the finalist with summer instruction as Overload at $3100/3 credit course).

Compensation Determination: Final salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

SUMMARY
The instructional faculty member is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. They are responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend in any of the schools within Washington Adventist University as assigned. The faculty performs all other duties as directed by the Department Chair, Dean, Provost or the President or designee.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in Maternal Health, Community Health, Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical and other courses needed.
- Develop curriculum for assigned courses.
- Evaluates students based on criteria described in course syllabus. Provide clinical instruction and supervision.
- Demonstrates and fosters excellence in teaching and service; values research. Promotes Christian values in teaching methods and interaction with students. Provides time for academic advising of students and maintains regular office hours. Assist in departmental assessment of learning outcomes.
- Assist in University Preview and promotion of department. Assist with departmental meetings and events.
- Serves on various academic committees as requested.
- Supports the University mission, vision, and values.
- Keeps students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work attendance requirements.
- Provides students with a mid-term progress report per policy.
- Post and maintain office hours for students.
- Refers students to the Center for Student Success, as needed and follows up.
- Fully participates in the faculty performance appraisal system, including analysis of student attrition and grade distributions.
- Submits required reports to the appropriate entities.
- Attends all faculty meetings, General Assemblies, Convocations, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Provost, Dean, or Department Chair.
- Attends all University commencement ceremonies and departmental events.
- Becomes familiar and complies with all university policies and procedures.
- Actively engages in the co-curricular activities of the University.
- Conveys University-related information to students in a timely manner as requested by University officials.
- Completes other work related responsibilities or duties as assigned by the Department Chair, Dean, Provost, or the President or his/her designee.

- May provide supervision to faculty, staff, and student employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include assisting the President and Provost in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
