Company Description
We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator to ensure the reliability, security, and peak performance of our Oracle database systems.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Oracle databases, adapting to evolving data requirements, and supporting users by managing data access, performing backups and restores, and maintaining high standards of availability, performance, and data security. You will also be responsible for patching and upgrading Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (EMCC) as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong command of database architecture, principles, and best practices, along with hands-on experience managing the full data lifecycle—from creation and transformation to utilization and archiving.
Candidates may work remotely with one day per month required in the Oklahoma City office.
Job Description
- Install, configure, maintain, and tune Oracle 19c databases.
- Create, modify, and decommission database instances.
- Perform database patching and upgrades.
- Manage backup and recovery operations using RMAN.
- Monitor and support production systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Administer user accounts and support workload management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, implement, and maintain Oracle-based database solutions.
- Develop and test procedures to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
- Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls.
- Maintain and test system recovery and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure performance and availability align with business needs.
- Document procedures and maintain knowledge base for continuity and support.
- Manage change control processes and obtain necessary approvals.
- Provide expert-level support for data architecture, management, and application integration.
- Communicate project status, issues, and timelines to management and project teams.
- Lead cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and implementing solutions.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (EMCC) for monitoring and management.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred.
Required: 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience with a degree, or 8+ years without a degree.
- Proven experience in Oracle database administration.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle database internals.
- Proficiency with Oracle Data Guard and Flashback technologies.
- Proven experience patching and upgrading EMCC
- Strong understanding of Red Hat Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience with import/export and Data Pump tools.
- Scripting skills in Perl, Shell, and PL/SQL.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong time management and project prioritization abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin or Toad Data Modeler.
- Familiarity with Oracle ATG and Endeca is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
