PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Software Engineer in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design and Lead Compliance Service Architectures. Responsible for driving the architectural design and development of compliance case analysis and investigation support platforms at PayPal. Establish standardized API frameworks, ensuring seamless integration across multiple data sources, and implement scalable service architectures that will reduce investigation turnaround times. Maintain and Optimize Compliance Investigation Tools. Ensure operational stability and efficiency in PayPal’s compliance services by building and maintaining pipelines for real-time web inspection, account graph visualization, and case summarization. Plan Re-architecture and Compliance Service Roadmap . Collaborate with product and compliance teams to assess requirements, prioritize backlog stories, and plan release strategies for PayPal’s compliance investigation tools. Lead cross-project re-architecture initiatives such as migrating legacy data storage to modern pipelines or designing batch services for high-volume data preprocessing. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience in Java development and software design (3 years)
2. Experience of guiding junior engineers (1 year)
3. Experience in translating complex business requirements into technical specifications and long term architectural roadmaps (1 year)
4. Experience in building and automating CI/CD pipelines with a focus on ‘shift-left’ testing and automated deployment strategies (1 year)
5. Experience with MySQL and NO SQL (1 year)
6. Experience working closely with product team to influence the product lifecycle from ideation to launch (1 year)
7. Experience with public cloud with expertise in Container Orchestration Docker (1 year)
8. Experience of microservice framework Spring Boot (1 year)
