Job Summary
The Warehouse Lead will supply our valued customers with the necessary items they need to grow their business every day. This position will thrive off a high-energy environment with dedicated team members who get the job done. We have a positive reputation for taking care of the details, complete and accurate packages, and exceptional service. The responsibility of this role is to direct the day-today warehouse activities including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct and perform a variety of warehousing duties such as loading, checking, order picking, and shipping.
- Monitor and verify the accuracy of outbound shipments.
- Ensure that all customer orders and branch transfers are filled, packaged, loaded and delivered correctly and on time.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
- Monitor equipment maintenance and housekeeping. Lead the team concerning best practices, and proper procedures and ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Assist and direct efficiency inventory management and cycle counts.
- Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items, such as recommending additions or deletions to standard stock items or ordering replenishments within established procedures and limits.
- Assist in the training and development of Warehouse associates. May monitor attendance, hours worked and job performance.
- Be courteous in all contact with company customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of safety practices.
- Ability to lift heavy packages and objects.
- Skill in operating forklift or other materials handling equipment.
- Skill in operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
- Knowledge of automated or computerized system operation.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Customer focused and team oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Typical environments include offices, light industrial, commercial, utility and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
