Corporate Well-being Intern (Part-Time)

Purpose:

Location: West Des Moines, IA
Schedule: Part-Time (10–15 hours/week)
Pay: $20 per hour

Athene has an exciting internship opportunity for a current student to gain hands-on experience supporting employee well-being in a corporate environment. This flexible role will support our Well-being at Athene initiative focused on physical, emotional, social, and financial well-being.

Accountabilities:

 What You’ll Do

• Teach at least two fitness or well-being classes weekly, including potential classes before or after standard working hours
• Support fitness center operations, scheduling, and employee communications
• Support wellness challenges and help develop accessible, on-demand movement content for employees across multiple offices
• Contribute to projects focused on resilience, self-care, mobility, and overall well-being

Qualifications and Experience:

• Passion for fitness, wellness, and employee engagement
• Strong communication skills with an energetic, approachable presence
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in corporate wellness and supporting desk-based employee populations

Qualifications

• Coursework in exercise science, kinesiology, wellness, or related field required
• CPR/AED certification preferred but not required
• Personal training or group fitness certification preferred but not required
