Cogent Bank is seeking energetic and entrepreneurial Community Association Relationship Managers to join our growing team!  Starting only six (6) years ago, Cogent Bank is one of the fastest growing banks in Florida and was built with community association banking in mind and support from every level of the bank.  From electronic signature cards to full API integration with top community association software…Cogent Bank is already delivering value to hundreds of community associations across the state.   Qualified candidates from the following geographies will be considered:  Greater Tampa Bay; Jacksonville/Ponte Vedra; Sarasota/Bradenton; West Palm Beach; and Destin/Pensacola.   

The Community Association Relationship Manager is responsible for generating new clients in the property management, homeowner’s association, and condo association industry.  They will provide exceptional client service while maximizing the profitability of client relationships and minimizing risk to the bank.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the community association industry, existing client relationships and the ability to build a team over time.  They must be a highly motivated calling officer and knowledgeable of deposit, loan and technology products used by the industry.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with bank leadership to develop a business development plan focused on winning new community association relationships. Target clients include property management companies, self-managed homeowner and condo associations, accounting and law firms focused on the community association industry.

• As the client base grows, build a servicing team that delivers a first-class client experience.

• Position the bank and the Relationship Manager as an association banking expert in your market through educational events, key sponsorships, calling efforts and community awareness.

• Develop a COI network within the local association industry.

• Maintain a strong understanding of the Association Banking credit policies and procedures to maintain acceptable credit quality and provide advice and recommendations for loan structure and pricing.

• Become the face of Cogent Bank in the local community association trade organizations such as CAI, COMA, et al.

• Work with bank leadership to consistently review the association deposit, loan and technology products to ensure the bank is industry leading.   

• Ensure BSA compliance by reading and being familiar with the BSA/AML program/policy; following all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; and completing all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.

• All other tasks, responsibilities, or duties, as directed by management.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in working with the community association industry as a banker, Community Association Manager (CAM) or similar field.

• Sufficient knowledge of the local community association landscape.

• Exceptional knowledge of technology, treasury, deposit and loan products within the industry.  Ideally the candidate will have familiarity with technology platforms such as Cinc, Vantaca, VMS, Enumerate and other industry technology.

• Exhibits effective business development and customer service practices.

• Maintains confidentiality of customer and employee information.

• Initiative-taker and able to work both independently and in teams.

• Displays a powerful sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to complete tasks correctly, with emphasis on working with and through people in the process.

• Must be able to make sound decisions, can recognize potential problems, and take corrective action.

• Good people skills and communication with all levels of management.

• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to serve as a player/coach as the portfolio grows.
