Job Summary
The primary function of this position is to assist the credit union in achieving its vision to become the preferred financial service provider for all members. This is achieved by providing outstanding service to internal, external, and potential members that meet the Service Promises and Standards of the credit union. A key component of this service is to identify the members’ financial needs and recommend appropriate credit union solutions.
Safeguards member information and credit union vital records in a manner commensurate with the sensitivity of the information and in compliance with the credit union's information security policies, standards and procedures.
The Community Development Assistant works to support the Credit Union’s community, financial literacy and employer group initiatives through a variety of duties including reviewing sponsorships, assisting with financial literacy workshops and general day-to-day tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional member service to all internal, external, and potential credit union members and meet or exceed the Service Promises and Standards of the credit union.
- Facilitate requests for sponsorships and donations.
- Responsible for the organization, communication, payment and submission of all sponsorship and donation requests.
- Works with Marketing to provide the appropriate logo, ad or images for sponsorship related materials.
- Actively participates in Credit Union sponsored events (presentations, photography, video, etc.).
- Posts to Credit Union social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) about sponsored events.
- Facilitates requests for Financial Literacy workshops in the community.
- Works with Marketing on support material/collateral for Financial Literacy workshops
- Actively participates in the preparation and delivery of Financial Literacy workshops through updating the website by preparing materials, assisting with setup and clean up.
- Delivers contact lists from Financial Literacy workshops to Marketing for further follow up campaigns.
- Research community involvement events in each of our membership areas. This may include Chamber of Commerce sponsored events or community wide events.
- Sends out regular communication to all staff regarding volunteer opportunities for community and sponsored events.
- Collaborates with the Community Development team and Marketing department on promotional items and orders items (as needed) through the online ordering system.
- Performs other duties as assigned and supports all areas of the credit union and its affiliates
- Assist Administrative assistant and Executive team with various administrative tasks (preparing reports, errands, ordering items, etc.)
- Works with Community Development team to record, edit, and produce podcast episodes.

Other Requirements
- High School diploma or general education development (GED) diploma.
- Ability to present a variety of information to diverse groups (when necessary).
- Ability to travel and provide own transportation.
- Varying hours (nights, weekends, and holidays)
- Must be bondable.
- Must adhere to all applicable Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) laws and regulations.
