About the Team: The Project Manager III-PCM is responsible for supervising the project management group to ensure the successful progression of customer milestones within product launches for all transmission programs. This position is responsible for supervising all project management activities to ensure the accuracy of all project management tracking methods and tools used to ensure on-time milestone achievement for each customer project

- Supervise project managers and project analysts to ensure the completion of projects within the interface of product line, program management, and other project team members; responsible for managing all tracking methods, metrics, and databases in order to report overall project/program statuses to senior management, customers, and global leadership.
- Evaluate project management operations, assign and check work, maintain and track costs/budget, enforce company policy, complete performance reviews, make staffing and disciplinary decisions with HR, initiate and/or recommend Changes-In-Status, and resolve issues with day-to-day operations and/or customers as required.
- Manage project teams for level III topics at the direct request of senior management (i.e. topics such as quality initiatives, supplier phase-outs, etc.) to support business development, capacity, or customer-specific requests.
- Review and approve employee timecards in ADP e-Time including vacation, PTO, etc. promptly.
- Track and train production employees for growth and development by ensuring employees are qualified and trained for assigned positions and current-level qualifications.
- Accountable for performance management to include coaching, corrective counseling, and disciplinary actions, submitting employee step progressions, performance reviews, and any other ZF documentation relative to employee’s performance.
- Train, develop and motivate employees, champion individual and team efforts, and aid in the development of professionals to achieve individual leadership and company goals and objectives.
- Supervise resources and oversee all project management activities, pre-series builds, and new equipment installations to support project milestones for internal and external customers; prepare and present subsequent reports and recommendations for process improvement to senior management.
- Serve as primary contact/liaison to customer for project management; Identify information/data and resources needed by the customer and ensure timely transfer of such information between project management and the customer.
- Act in a consultant capacity within the department, and backup manager as needed; Lead problem-solving, corrective action development, and resolution activities within the team.
- Maintain budget for project management scrap and obsolescence related to commissioning and pre-series events.
Your profile as a Project Manager III:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 8+ years of advanced experience
- 2+ years of experience with project supervision in one or more of the following areas: industrialization, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing planning, and/or program/launch management
- 4+ years of leadership experience involving coaching, mentoring, motivation, and conflict management
- 2+ years of experience with BOM structures and engineering change procedures
- Experience with leading capital investment projects and/or manufacturing projects
- Proven knowledge in 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methodology
- Proven knowledge of the technical interface between purchasing, product development, and manufacturing engineering
- Proven knowledge of program management, manufacturing equipment, and production interfaces and processes
- General knowledge of APQP/PPAP processes and equipment cost estimations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast paced, high-volume environment and interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management
- Experience with SAP and Axalant or comparable ERP and engineering change systems
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, proven organizational abilities, and high attention to detail
- Ability to influence and engage at multiple levels within internal and external organizations
