Key Responsibilities
Provide community-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or adults, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention.
Collaborate with clients, families, and stakeholders to develop individualized treatment plans.
Apply a strengths-based approach using evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Informed Care.
Deliver behavioral interventions including operant conditioning, cognitive processing, and group dynamics.
Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress.
Participate in ongoing staff development and training.
Support quality improvement initiatives through data collection and reporting.
Work collaboratively with case managers, therapists, and support staff.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders involved in client care.
Facilitate PSR group sessions aligned with client treatment goals.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
High school diploma and at least one year of experience in social services (RSA designation per IL Administrative Code Part 132 Section 132.25).
Preferred (Mental Health Professional per IL Administrative Code Part 132 Section 132.25):
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology, education).
Bachelor’s degree in any field with two years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.
Practical nurse license under the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
Certificate of psychiatric rehabilitation plus two years of experience.
Certified recovery support specialist or family partnership professional.
Licensed occupational therapy assistant with one year of mental health experience.
High school diploma or GED with five years of supervised clinical experience.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client transport.
Strong written communication skills for documentation.
Skilled in case management and community support interventions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of case management and rehabilitation methods.
Familiarity with community resources and legal procedures related to mental health.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to meet complex client needs.
Ability to multitask and coordinate services effectively.
Capacity to build rapport with youth and families.
Receptive to supervision and direction.
