Job Overview: 

This position is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager in managing the accounting operations, regulatory and financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in month-end and year-end close process.  

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. 

  • Support budget and financial forecasts and report variances.  

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance with GAAP and internal policies  

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.  

  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.  

  • Evaluate, record, and report violations of controlled processes to management for proper correction.  

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.  

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of financial operations  

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in training and development of accounting staff 

  • Anything else needed or asked upon

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred 

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience  

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements  

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills  

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
