Associate Director, Data Architect

As the Associate Director, Data Architect, you'll serve as a critical leader within Shure's global IT organization. You'll provide direction and support of our data strategy and related implementations. You will be accountable for data architecture and development of data management technology while advocating and executing best-in-class best practices. You'll also be responsible for the development and support of Shure’s data pipelines, data catalogs, data security, data lake, warehouse, and visualization technology. 

This role partners cross-functionally with internal business leaders and IT resources to leverage data to solve business problems. A strong blend of IT leadership and relationship building is critical to the success of this role. 

We are flexible with the seniority of this position. 

This role is hybrid and based in our Niles, IL Corporate Headquarters. 

Responsibilities

• Manages a globally located data engineering team.
• Manages vendor relationships that are leveraged for implementation and to support deliverables.
• Designs, develops, and maintains the Snowflake Enterprise Data Warehouse to ensure scalable and efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Develops data models, schemas, and structures for optimized performance and scalability in the data warehouse environment.
• Creates and manages ETL pipelines using Informatica Cloud and other technologies, ensuring seamless data flow between systems and data integrity.
• Develops and maintains data integration processes to sync data between Shure’s enterprise and product applications.
• Supports the use of the Informatica Cloud Data Management for data governance, cataloging, and data quality.
• Collaborates extensively with data governance authorities, data owners, and data stewards to ensure alignment and integration of data management practices.
• Provides technical project management for projects identified in a multi-year data roadmap.
• Delivers proof-of-concept projects and technical workshops and supports implementation projects.
• Evaluates business requirements and works closely with stakeholders to identify key business needs and translate that into a clear data strategy solution.
• Defines and implements data management best practice processes.
• Contributes to the development and refinement of Shure's data strategy and roadmap, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
• Identifies new opportunities for data and analytics to advance business needs as well as identifying and conveying data quality and gaps.
• Manages, benchmarks and ensures continuous testing, cleansing and refining of data integrity and quality assurance processes to enhance data and improve results.
• Presents complex data findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, in a clear and concise manner.
• Provides guidance on major strategies and methodologies based on emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Technical Science or related field. Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of wide-ranging data experience working with and influencing multiple, cross-functional teams (business analysts, data analysts, data scientist, and IT) to ensure meaningful data collection or connections with responsibility for results, including costs and methods.
• Skilled data development history working with cloud hosted data infrastructure platform.  Certification preferred in one or more of the following cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google.
• Strong implementation and support experience of data engineering integration, quality, security, and cataloging applications.
• Hands-on experience with various data technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop), as well as logical and physical data modeling.
• Passionate about technology including data, analytics, machine learning, augmented intelligence, automated decision making 
• Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture and translate data and analysis into actionable insights.
• Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively, drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound judgment and demonstrated leadership skills.
