WSP seeks to hire a Vice President, Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist to be leader in WSP’s Civil and Ground Engineering service-line, who will be active in all our end-markets, with particular focus on linear infrastructure projects and general site development. The position can be based in any of our California offices, hybrid work is an option, and will roll-up under the California Region of our Earth & Environment Business-Line. The candidate will play a leadership role in our California as we continue to strengthen and expand our Civil and Ground Engineering Services. In this role, you will be a leader who leverages cross collaboration with other WSP business-lines such as Transport and Infrastructure (T&I), Property and Buildings (P&B), Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and Project Management and Construction Management (PMCM) to bring value to our clients. WSP has over 5000 multidisciplinary professionals in Southwest State and California between all our business-lines, and a further 20,000 nationally.

Your ImpactAs part of the team, you will be a major contributor and leading project teams within our Civil and Ground Engineering, Earth & Environment Team delivering services for civil and geotechnical engineering projects that involve.

Clients:
- Drives performance of the civil and geotechnical engineering services, working with other senior practitioners and business-lines, strategically grows our market share to fulfill our goal that WSP become the preferred, trusted advisor to our clients.
- Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with the broader California and Southwest Regions and National Client and Sector Teams.
- Brings an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end-markets.
- Utilizes our extended reach of technical and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the region, offices and the globe to foster new and innovative client delivery.

Operational Excellence and Expertise:
- Provide proactive and strategic leadership for the civil engineering, geotechnical and geohazards related disciplines and functions, offering direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector.
- Lead larger-scale more complex civil, geotechnical and engineering geology projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees.
- Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings.
- Support the overall long-term strategy, growth, and sales pipeline development of Civil Engineering work for WSP in assigned area of responsibility
- Responsible for the profitable performance of the individual projects and the successful completion of the projects within the specified area.
- Ensure that engineering discipline certifications, accreditations, and value proposition is developed and continuously improved.
